A Little About...

J Rob

My name is Johnathan Robinson (but everyone calls me J Rob) and I am a professional editor with experience in television animation.

My Story

Originally from San Mateo, California, I moved to Los Angeles back in 2010 to study Screenwriting at Loyola Marymount University. Realizing very quickly writing was not for me, I began doing internships all across the industry in every department imaginable. From development, production, risk management to even brand consolidation.

I finally found my love in animation when I began as a PA at Wild Canary Animation. Eventually, when I was a Production Coordinator at DreamWorks Animation, I took the leap into testing for animatic editing and fell in love with editing ever since.

I am currently working at Nickelodeon Animation as an Animatic Editor.

What Else You Do?

When I am not editing, my hobbies are traveling the world, cooking new dishes, hiking new distances, trying exotic craft beers and watching videos about Disney Theme Park History.
